Record-Breaking IWK Telethon

A record-breaking amount of money was raised during yesterday’s annual IWK Telethon.

The children’s hospital says people in the Maritimes pledged more than 6.4 million dollars.

That’s more than a million dollars above last year’s total.

Sydney was one of the broadcast sites for the telethon, along with Halifax,

Saint John and Charlottetown.

The IWK says the money raised will be used to buy important pieces of equipment including new recliner chairs for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
