Rankin Names Shadow Cabinet

Sydney-Membertou MLA Derek Mombourquette has been named House leader for the Provincial Liberals as the party takes up its opposition role.

Mombourquette was also named the Liberal Critic for Education and Early Childhood Development as party leader Iain Rankin unveiled his shadow cabinet today.

Rankin also announced Northside-Westmount MLA Fred Tilley will be the party’s Economic Development critic.

The Liberals were reduced to opposition status with 17 seats after last month’s election and all 17 members have been given critic portfolios.

The Tories have a majority with 31 seats, while the NDP have six.
