Rankin, Cabinet Sworn In

Iain Rankin and his 16 cabinet ministers were sworn in at a ceremony in Halifax this morning.

Cape Breton Liberal MLA’s Geoff MacLellan and Derek Mombourquette will continue in cabinet under Premier Rankin.

Mombourquette is the new Education Minister and MacLellan is minister of the new department of Infrastructure and Housing.

Kelly Regan will serve as deputy premier as well as minister of community services, the minister of seniors and minister of the advisory council on the status of women.

Other highlights include Zach Churchill as the new Minister of Health, Randy Delorey moves from Health to Justice and Labi Kousoulis takes over as Finance Minister.

Halifax area MLA Brendan Maguire is the new Minister of Municipal Affairs and joins Keith Irving and Ben Jessome as new faces in cabinet.

Irving is the Minister of the renamed Department of Environment and Climate Change while Jessome becomes Minister of the Public Service Commission.
