Queen Elizabeth II Dies After 70-Year Reign

Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96 after a reign that lasted 70 years.

Buckingham Palace says Elizabeth died at her Balmoral Estate in Scotland today.

Her son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, now becomes King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth countries, including Canada.

All of Elizabeth’s children travelled to Balmoral, near Aberdeen, this morning after doctors put her under medical supervision.

The Palace says the King and the Queen Consort will return to London tomorrow.
