Quebec Man Dead After Sydney Mines Crash

A 62-year-old Quebec man is dead after the car he was driving collided with a pickup truck yesterday afternoon where the 125 Sydney Bypass turns into Main Street in Sydney Mines.

RCMP say weather conditions were poor at the time at around 3:00 and the man’s car spun sideways and hit the pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The man was the only one in the car and he died at the scene.

Two people in the truck suffered minor injuries while a third suffered what police describe as moderate but non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while police investigated.
