Public Hearing On Glace Bay Street Closure, This Evening

Regional Council is holding a public hearing on the closure of Beach Street in Glace Bay at its meeting, this evening.

Council voted unanimously last month to close the street permanently to allow for the construction of the new Glace Bay Sewage Treatment Plant.

The municipality has posted a notice announcing its plans to close the street.

The Glace Bay plant is expected to begin operations in 2025, and will cost an estimated 85 million dollars to build.

The public hearing on the street closure is scheduled to get underway at around 6:35 at City Hall in Sydney.
