Provincial Money For Louisbourg Lighthouse Trail Repairs

Cape Breton East MLA and Minister responsible for the Office of Addictions and Mental Health, Brian Comer announced 158-thousand dollars in provincial money this morning for repairs to the Louisbourg Lighthouse Trail.

The province says the not-for-profit Coastal Connections Trail Association will use the money to relocate and rebuild sections of the trail damaged by post-tropical storm Fiona farther away from the shoreline.

It says the goal is to protect the trail from future storm surges.

Coastal Connections Trail Association chair Carter Stevens says the money will allow them to restore the three sections of trail damaged by Fiona.
