Provincial Funding for Cape Breton Halls

Municipal Affairs Minister and Sydney-Whitney Pier MLA Derek Mombourquette announced 388-thousand dollars in grants for community halls in Cape Breton, this morning.

The projects include a roof replacement and a new generator for Melenik Hall and a new roof for the Polish Village Hall, both in Whitney Pier.

Also on the list are improvements to the heating system and replacement of windows at the Community Cares Youth Outreach in Sydney Mines.

The Riverview Y’s Men’s Club in Sydney is getting money for structural updates and St. Andrew’s Church in Neil’s Harbour is also getting a grant for renovations and accessible washrooms.
