The province is set to release its annual five-year highway improvement plan, this afternoon.
The move comes after the Liberal government announced plans in April to spend 390 million dollars over seven years to improve highways in the province without the use of tolls.
It says sections of four highways will be twinned over the next seven years.
Among them is a 38 kilometer stretch outside New Glasgow to Antigonish that’s seen several fatal and serious accidents in recent years.
In July, Ottawa and the province announced 140 million dollars in joint funding to twin a section of Highway 103 on the province’s South Shore.
