The Province says it’s going sell off the remaining alcohol from the United States it has in stock and give the profit to food charities.
U.S. alcohol products were pulled from Liquor Corporation shelves on March 4th in response to U.S. tariffs.
Premier Tim Houston says the province won’t be ordering any more alcohol from the United States once the inventory is gone.
The $14 million worth of remaining inventory will be available at Liquor Corporation locations across the province starting on Monday and is expected to take several months to sell.
The province says the estimated profit of $4 million from the sale will be going to Feed Nova Scotia and groups that provide community food access in the coming weeks.
