Province Reports Three More COVID Deaths, 99 New Cases

The province is reporting three more COVID-19 deaths and 99 new cases of the virus since the last report on Friday.

Health officials say those who died include a man and woman in their eighties in the Northern Zone.

Both lived at a long-term care in home in Pugwash where an outbreak has been declared.

A woman in her 60’s in the Northern Zone has also died because of the virus and was not a resident of a long-term care home.

One of the new cases reported today is in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

52 of the new cases are in the Central Zone, with 25 in the Northern Zone and 21 in the Western Zone.

The province is also reporting 109 recoveries today.

There’s now a total of 265 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including seven in the Regional Municipality and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

16 people in the province are now in hospital with the virus, including seven people in intensive care.
