Province Reports Record 175 New COVID Cases

The province is reporting a record 175 new cases of COVID-19 today.

149 of those cases are in the Central Zone.

13 are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton, nine are in the Western Zone and four are in the Northern Zone.

40 people in the province are in hospital with the virus, including nine in intensive care.

There’s now a total of over 1,200 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 71 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and 17 in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

Membertou Chief Terry Paul says two people in that community have tested positive and are in quarantine.

He’s asking people in Membertou to stay home if they can and to get tested if they’ve been in contact with anyone who’s tested positive.
