Province Reports One New COVID Case, Seven Variants

The province announced one new COVID-19 case today, along with seven new variant cases.

The new case reported today is in the Northern Zone and is a close contact of an earlier reported case.

The province says the variant cases were found after samples were sent to the National Microbiology Lab.

The latest two cases of the UK variant are in the Western and Central Zones and are connected to a previously reported UK variant.

The people were tested late last month.

One case is resolved and the other is self-isolating.

Five cases in the Central Zone have been identified as the South African variant.

One case is related to travel and the other four are household contacts of the traveler.

The travel-related case is now resolved and the other four cases are in self-isolation.

There’s now a total of 29 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.

Three of those cases are in the Cape Breton Community Health Network and one is in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond County Community Health Network.
