Province Reports One New COVID-19 Case, Announces University Funding

The province is reporting one new case of COVID-19 today.

The new case is in the Central Zone and is a close contact of an earlier reported case.

There’s now a total of 27 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.

Meanwhile, the province is announcing $25 million it says will help universities manage the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cape Breton University will be getting about $2.2 million of that funding.

Dalhousie University is getting the largest share at about $9.5 million.

The province says the funding is expected to be given to universities in the coming weeks and is based on information provided by the universities on the expenses they’ve faced in responding to the pandemic.
