Province Reports COVID Death, 27 More Cases

The province is reporting another COVID-19 death today, along with 27 more cases of the virus.

Health officials say the person who died was a woman in her 90’s with underlying medical conditions in the Northern Zone.

The woman lived at a long-term care home in Pugwash, where a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared.

One of the new cases reported today is in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

There are also 13 new cases in the Central Zone, with seven in the Western Zone and six in the Northern Zone.  

The province is also reporting 40 recoveries today.

There’s now a total of 223 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including two in the Regional Municipality and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

15 people in the province are now in hospital with the virus, including seven people in intensive care.
