Province Reporting Record Number of COVID-19 Deaths

The province is reporting a record number of weekly COVID-19 deaths.

Health officials say 24 more people died over the seven-day-period that ended on Monday.

Hospital admissions also went up over that period, with 91 people hospitalized because of COVID.

However, health officials say they’ve seen a noticeable decrease in the number of new cases.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Shelley Deeks says this week’s data suggest the province has passed the peak of the sixth wave of the pandemic.
