Province Reporting 11 New COVID Cases, More School Exposures

The province is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 today, as well as more school exposures in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education.

One of the exposures was at Jubilee Elementary in Sydney Mines and there’s also been another exposure at Boularderie Elementary.

A number of measures are now being taken at Boularderie, where non-essential visitors, including parents, will not be allowed into the building.

Other measures include enhanced cleaning, limits on extra-curricular activities and minimizing movement within the building.

Meanwhile, four of the 11 cases reported today are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

There are also five new cases in the Central Zone and two in the Northern Zone.

With 16 new recoveries, there’s now a total of 161 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 17 in the Regional Municipality.

Eight people in the province are currently in hospital with the virus.
