Province Releases Some Public Sector Vaccination Numbers

The province has released numbers on the level of COVID-19 vaccination in key parts of the public sector.

It says, as of yesterday, between 50 and 90 per cent of employees in key sectors have provided proof of vaccination and most of those who responded are fully vaccinated.

That includes 99 percent of responding paramedics and IWK staff and 97 percent of responding education department employees, as well as 91 percent of responding health authority staff, 93 percent of responding long-term care workers, and 89 percent of responding home care workers.

Premier Tim Houston says officials are following up with those who haven’t responded and he’s continuing to encourage them to get vaccinated.

Most public sector workers in the province will have to have at least a first dose by November 30th and they’ll have to show proof of full vaccination 70 days after their first dose.
