Province Offering Help To Regional Municipality After Dorian

Mayor Cecil Clarke says 20 more trucks were sent to the Regional Municipality last night to help with power restoration.

Clarke says Municipal Affairs Minister Chuck Porter tells him the province has committed to providing food and water to people in the municipality still without power.

A schedule will be posted today, once details are finalized.

The municipality says Nova Scotia Power is trying to reconnect customers ahead of the estimated restoration time.

However, the power utility is focusing on outages with the greatest number of customers first and that means customers in smaller outages will have to wait longer.
