Province Making Changes To Testing For Rotational Workers

The province will soon be introducing changes to quarantine requirements for rotational workers based on how many vaccine doses they’ve had.

Starting on Tuesday of next week, rotational workers will no longer have to quarantine if they have no symptoms and have been fully vaccinated at least two weeks before arriving in the province.

However, they’ll have to get tested on day one or two, again on day five or six, and again on day 12, 13 or 14.

Workers will have to quarantine for seven days if they’ve had one dose at least two weeks before arriving, though there are stricter requirements for those coming from an outbreak site.

For rotational workers who are not vaccinated, the rules will not change.

Meanwhile, the province is also introducing voluntary COVID-19 testing at the Halifax Stanfield Airport starting on Tuesday.

However, it says the PCR testing at the airport will not replace the need for travelers to quarantine.
