Province Introduces New Tracking Measure

People entering Nova Scotia from outside the Atlantic Region now have to give the province their contact information.

Premier Stephen McNeil says officials will be calling those people every day to make sure they’re self-isolating for 14 days as required.

He says police will get involved after three missed calls.

The measure comes after the province reported its latest case of COVID-19 involving a man who failed to self-isolate when he landed in Halifax after flying from the US through Toronto.

McNeil says he shares peoples’ frustrations with reports of people who don’t self-isolate when they’re required to do so.

There’s now a total of four reported active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.
