The Province has activated its postal strike contingency plan.
It says people can now take some provincial government correspondence that can’t be sent electronically, such as applications for birth certificates or residential tenancies applications, to an Access Nova Scotia centre.
The government says the service is only for mail to the provincial government and doesn’t apply to items such as personal mail, passport applications, holiday cards or power bills.
Starting on Saturday, November 30, people can pick up some high-priority provincial government items at an Access Nova Scotia centre on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Some provincial government departments have already made arrangements for people to pick up items directly, such as income assistance cheques and rent supplements.
