Province Getting AstraZeneca Vaccine

The province says it’s getting 13,000 doses of the newly approved AstraZeneca vaccine next week.

There’s controversy over the effectiveness of the vaccine, especially in people 65 and older, but the province says it has assurances the AstraZeneca shipment will not affect the timeline for the delivery of the other vaccines being given to people 80 and over.

All 13,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be given as first doses starting on the week of March 15th.

It’ll be given to people between the ages of 50 and 64 at 26 locations across the province on a first come, first serve basis.

Doctors Nova Scotia and the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia will be handling the launch of the new doses.
