Province Announces More Tourism Funding

The province has announced $12 million in funding for tourism marketing today.

The funding includes $9.2 million for tourism businesses to take part in marketing activities and build demand this year.

It also includes $1.8 million for regional marketing projects encouraging visitors to see different parts of the province, and $1 million to help tourism operators and event managers with digital marketing and booking.

The province says program guidelines will be finalized and launched to the tourism industry next week.

Meanwhile, Tourism Nova Scotia has launched a new marketing campaign in Quebec, Ontario, the Northeastern US, the UK and Germany.

The province says the campaign was launched two weeks earlier than usual to try to get the attention of people in the early stages of planning their summer travel.
