Province Announces Funding For Long-Term Care

The province has set aside another $96.5 million for long-term care.

Premier Iain Rankin made the announcement at Victoria Haven Nursing Home in Glace Bay this morning.

The multi-year plan will replace nearly 1,300 beds at 14 nursing homes and three residential care facilities in the province.

Victoria Haven Nursing Home, Carefield Manor Residential Care Facility in Sydney, Dominion Community Guest Home and Maple Hill Manor in New Waterford are among the seventeen facilities.

The first project is not expected to be completed until 2026-27.

The province says facilities will be built, repaired or renovated according to space and design standards.
