by A total of seven organizations in the Regional Municipality and Victoria County are getting money from the province aimed at helping older Nova Scotians stay healthy, active and socially connected.
The Regional Municipality and Victoria County are getting $25,000 each for a research program called ACTing Collectively that’s gathering data on the needs of older Nova Scotians.
The Better Bite Community Kitchen in Sydney is also getting $25,000 to focus on markets in areas that have a high elder population.
The Port Morien Development Association is getting $10,000 for its Elder Outreach project.
The St. Ann’s Bay Development Association is using $9,900 to help identify needs and remove barriers to independent living.
$11,500 is going to the Bras D’Or Lakes Day Camps Association’s BOLD Living Learning Program for Older Adults.
And Victoria County Home Support Services is getting $7,000 for Community Dementia education and Fidget Blankets.
