The nurses have specialized education and training to work in a variety of mental health and addictions settings.
The Province has amended Nursing Regulations under the Nursing Act to allow registration and licensing of RPN’s.
They’ll be regulated by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
The change takes effect today and the Health Authority will start recruiting registered psychiatric nurses in January.
