Progressive Conservatives Win Preston Byelection

The Progressive Conservatives have added to their majority in the Legislature with yesterday’s Preston byelection win by Twila Grosse.

Elections Nova Scotia says Grosse got 1,950 votes that translates to 42.5 percent of the vote.

NDP candidate Colter Simmonds came in second with 1,145 votes.

The Liberals have held the seat for the last 20 years but Liberal candidate Carlo Simmons had to settle for a third place finish with 1,021 votes.

Voter turnout was just under 39 per cent.
