Presumed Consent Organ Donation In Effect Today In Nova Scotia

The province’s presumed consent organ and tissue donation law is in effect as of today.

The law is a first in North America.

The change means all adults in the province are considered organ and tissue donors unless they register to opt out.

Children and people who don’t have the capacity to understand the law are exempt from the system.
