Premier Rankin announces funding for new Gaelic College campus in Mabou

Nova Scotia is investing almost 2 million dollars in a new, satellite campus of the Gaelic College.

The new campus will reside in the former St. Joseph’s Convent and Renewal Centre in Mabou, and will be called the Mabou Hill College.

Premier Iain Rankin announced the funding during a visit to the site yesterday.

The new campus will offer several courses, including a Foundation Year Program featuring broad-based course options including Gaelic culture and history.

The satellite campus will also be home to North America’s first Gaelic Medium School, as well as a Gaelic-based internet radio station with podcasts, traditional music, and student showcases.

Mabou Hill College is expected to open in September of 2022.
