Premier Designate Iain Rankin Appoints Six Member Transition Team

Premier designate Iain Rankin has announced a six-member transition team as the new provincial Liberal leader prepares to take over from Stephen McNeil.

Former Liberal MLA and cabinet minister Diana Whelan is the chair of his transition team.

The five other members are Community College president and CEO Don Bureaux, Halifax lawyer David Cameron, retired deputy minister Frances Martin, Nova Scotia Legal Aid managing lawyer Brandon Rolle and Rankin’s leadership campaign advisor Dale Palmeter.

The Premier’s Office says the transition team is having its first meeting today.

It says a date to swear-in the new cabinet will be announced shortly.
