The work will also temporarily close the hospital’s Emergency Department.

The Cape Breton District Health Authority says there will be a planned loss of power at the hospital during the day tomorrow which means the elevators will be out of service.

There could also be temporary phone outages.

The Emergency Department will close at 5:00 this evening and reopen at 7:00 on Monday morning.

The Health Authority is asking thatonly immediate family or next of kin visit patients tomorrow.

It adds exceptions will be made for compassionate reasons.

People planning on visiting a patient at the hospital are being asked to sign in at the security desk as a safety precaution
