Port Morien Polar Dip Has Record Turnout

Organizers of the Port Morien Polar Dip say this year’s event had a record- breaking 183 swimmers.

People took the plunge yesterday in waters at Port Morien Beach that were 1.8 degrees Celsius.

The event raised just over $12,300 dollars and counting.

The money will be shared between the Donkin Morien Community Association’s accessible playground project and the local charity, Caleb’s Courage that supports critically ill children and their families.

Yesterday’s Polar Dip was the 13th that organizers say has raised a total of more than $78,000 for local organizations.
