Port Hawkesbury Man Dead After Inverness County Crash

RCMP say a young man from Port Hawkesbury is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Route 19 in Inverness County, early this morning.

They add they got the call to the area of Fox Lane in Newtown between Port Hastings and Troy at around 2:40.

They add a vehicle and with three men inside left the road.

 

One of them was pronounced dead at the scene while the other two were taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Police say Highway 19 will be closed in the area of Newtown until mid-morning while they investigate.

 

They say drivers should use the 105 Trans Canada Highway and General Line Road and Creignish Mountain Road in the meantime.
