Police Warn Drivers To Stay Off Roads As Storm Closes Area Schools

Regional Police are asking people to stay off the roads this morning unless they have to travel.

 

Police add about 15 centimetres of snow has already fallen and there’s reduced visibility in blowing snow.

 

Meanwhile, classes at all schools in the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board are cancelled today.

 

The Marconi Campus of the Community College is also closed for the day, along with Etoile de l’Acadie in Sydney.

 

Provincial government offices in the Regional Municipality will delay opening until 10:00, this morning.

 

Cape Breton University is closed this morning and will announce the status of afternoon classes at 11:30 this morning.

 

Meanwhile, Spring officially arrives at 7:28 this morning.
