Police Seeking Man Accused of Fleeing Arrest

Regional Police are looking for a man who’s accused of fleeing arrest, assaulting police officers and stealing a police vehicle.

They say 45 year-old Todd Francis Axworthy failed to appear in court on charges of Mischief, Drug Trafficking, Conspiracy, Obstruction and a number of breaches of court conditions.

Police say they tried to stop a vehicle driven by Axworthy on Grand Lake Road yesterday evening but it sped away.

The vehicle was later found near the Community College where police say Axworthy assaulted officers and stole an unmarked police vehicle.

They say the vehicle was abandoned after hitting a parked vehicle on Bay Street in Whitney Pier.

Anyone who knows where Axworthy is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
