Police Seek Tips On Car/Cyclist Hit and Run

Richmond County RCMP are looking for tips from the public after a hit and run between a car and a cyclist on Tuesday night.

Police say they got the call to the collision at around 7:45.

They add a 65-year-old cyclist was heading east on Highway 104 when he was struck from behind.

The vehicle did not stop after the collision and continued eastward towards St. Peter’s.

Police say the car involved in the crash is described as an early to mid-2000 silver or grey Ford Taurus with a broken passenger mirror.

The cyclist from River Bourgeois was taken to the Strait Richmond Hospital and was later transferred to St. Martha’s hospital in Antigonish where he remains in stable condition.

Police are asking anyone with information on the accident to call them or Crime Stoppers.
