Police Say Two Arrested After Thefts from Vehicles

Regional Police say two people have been arrested for stealing from vehicles in the New Waterford area.

They say officers got a call to a home on the New Waterford Highway shortly before 3:30 this morning after homeowners reported catching two people searching through a vehicle in their driveway.

They say the people arrested are 27 and 31 years old but their names have not been released.

Police go on to say the two have been released on a promise to appear in Sydney Court next month on charges of theft, trespassing and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police say they’ve had more reports of vehicle entries in the area and they’re continuing to return stolen items to their owners.
