Police Issue Fines For Fires

Regional Police say they charged two people today who were burning fires in violation of the current province-wide ban.

They say they got a complaint about a fire in a yard on Hillside Street in Sydney at about 11:30 this morning and a 57-year-old man was given a $25,000 fine.

Police say they also got a call about a garbage fire on Grants Lane in Sydney shortly before 2:00 this afternoon.

That call resulted in a 43-year-old man getting a $25,000 fine.
