Two men have been charged as Regional Police look into reports of fake hundred-dollar bills being used in the Sydney area.
Regional Police say they got 10 reports over the last two weeks from businesses who found the bills.
Police say most of the bills were found to be altered with elements from other bank notes, including the number “5” in the hologram instead of “100.”
A 45 year-old man was arrested on March 3rd and a 41-year-old Sydney River man was arrested on February 19th as part of the investigation into the bills.
Both face charges of Fraud, Possessing Counterfeit Money and Uttering Counterfeit Money.
Anyone who sees the fake bills or has information on them is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
