Police Car Involved In Crash, 3 Arrested

Regional Police say one of their police cars was involved in a crash with a truck in Sydney early this morning.

They say officers spotted the Ford F-150 at about 3 am while looking into reports of three youth breaking into vehicles in the Ashby area.

They add a police cruiser was chasing the truck on Upper Prince St. when the truck crashed into another police cruiser coming in the opposite direction.

The officer whose vehicle was struck sustained non-life threatening injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Police say the three people in the truck ran away from the scene but were caught a short time later.

All three are now in custody.
