Police Arrest One Man And Are Looking For A Second Man After Glace Bay Chase

Regional Police have arrested a 39-year-old man and are looking for another man after a Ford F-150 truck deliberately hit two police vehicles at the Irving gas station on Main Street in Glace Bay last night.

Police say officers carrying out an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity recognized the driver of the truck, who’s prohibited from driving.

The officers blocked the truck when it parked at the gas pumps and the driver was caught and quickly arrested as he tried to run away.

However, police say the passenger in the truck moved into the driver’s seat and hit the police vehicles as he sped away on Main Street.

Police say officers gave up the chase for safety reasons but they add the truck hit another vehicle and the driver of that vehicle was not hurt.

The truck was later found abandoned on Neville Street in Reserve Mines.

Police say Stephen Frederick Hanna is the original driver and is charged with driving while disqualified, resisting arrest and breaching probation.

Police are looking for tips from the public in their search for the second driver and they say anyone with information can call their general number or Crime Stoppers.
