Plea Hearing Adjourned For Robbery Accused

A plea hearing was adjourned today for a Sydney woman accused of robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint.

33 year-old Leanne Francis Margaret Stevens is charged with auto theft and armed robbery and is due back in court next month.

Regional Police say a City Wide Taxi driver says he was robbed by two passengers he picked up at the Hampton Inn in Membertou at around 6:00 on the morning of August 1st.

The cab was found at a gas station at around 10:00 that morning.

About an hour later, police say a woman was arrested for public intoxication and later charged with the robbery.

Stevens continues her release on conditions until a plea hearing on September 29th.
