The Glace Bay Pee Wee “A” Miners continue to lead in a national contest with less than 24 hours of online voting left to go.
The minor hockey team now has more than 98,300 votes in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup and is more than 47-hundred votes ahead of its nearest competitor.
As regional winners, the team has already won $7,000 for its charity, the Alzheimer Society, $2,000 for the team, and $1,000 for Glace Bay Minor Hockey.
It’s competing to win $15,000 for its charity, $10,000 for the team, $5,000 for Hockey Nova Scotia and $5,000 for Glace Bay Minor Hockey.
The Miners were chosen for their video of a Valentine’s Day visit to the Taigh Na Mara nursing home in Glace Bay.
