Paul Re-elected As Membertou Chief

Long-time Membertou Chief Terry Paul has been re-elected after yesterday’s chief and band council elections.

Paul faced two challengers for his job, Eddie LaPorte and Darrel Bernard.

Paul and Membertou councillors will now serve a four-year term after the community switched from terms of two years for these elections.

Eight of twelve former councillors were also re-elected, yesterday.

36 people ran for election to council.
