Paul, McPhee Leading Cancer Care Fundraising Effort

Membertou Chief Terry Paul and former NHL star Mike McPhee are leading a campaign to raise $10 million for cancer care in Cape Breton.

The campaign, called “Cancer Care Here at Home”, was officially launched at the site of the new Cape Breton Cancer Centre today.

Local businessperson Annette Verschuren has given $1 million to the campaign and a total of $4.4 million has been raised so far.

The five-year campaign will focus on fundraising for equipment, patient programming, and research and innovation.
