Part Of Charlotte Street Closed For Construction, Starting Today

The Regional Municipality says a section of Charlotte Street in Sydney is closed starting today as the third phase of upgrades to the street gets underway.

The section between Wentworth and Townsend Streets is closed to vehicles until August.

However, sidewalks are still open.

The municipality says Transit Cape Breton routes aren’t affected by the work.

The 9 million-dollar Charlotte Street redevelopment project is funded in equal parts by the municipality, the province and Ottawa.
