Part of Cabot Trail Closed As Crews Repair Washout Damage

A section of the Cabot Trail between Ingonish and Neils Harbour is closed today as work is done where the road washed out last week.

Parks Canada says work is being done at the Still Brook construction site until 6:00 tomorrow morning.

It says barricades will be put up near Halfway Brook and Black Brook.

Crews will be working overnight to restore temporary water control measures set up during last week’s heavy rain to allow construction to continue.

Parks Canada says the work is an important part of reducing the risk of further flooding in the area.
