Premier Tim Houston and Health Minister Michelle Thompson announced a new health system leadership team today.
They also announced Brendan Carr is leaving as CEO of the provincial Health Authority and the Health Authority’s board of directors has been dismissed.
The four-person leadership team will be led by Karen Oldfield who’s also been appointed as interim CEO of the Health Authority.
She’ll work with Cape Breton’s Dr. Kevin Orrell who’s been appointed CEO of the newly created Office of Health Care Professionals Recruitment.
The two other team members are Jeannine Lagasse who’s been appointed deputy minister of the Department of Health and Wellness and Janet Davidson who’s been appointed as the administrator of the Health Authority.
Premier Houston says he; Minister Thompson and the leadership team will tour the province from September 20th to 23rd to hear from health-care professionals.
