Orrell Takes New Role At CBU

The province’s former Deputy Health Minister has a new job.

Dr. Kevin Orrell has been appointed as special advisor to the President of Cape Breton University.

The province says Orrell will focus on the university’s strategic health initiative– particularly on expanding the university’s health faculties.

After serving as Deputy Health Minister, Orrell was appointed CEO of the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment.

That job is being taken by the Health Authority’s Vice-President of Medicine, Dr. Nicole Boutilier, and Associate Deputy Health Minister Craig Beaton.

Their appointments take effect on Monday.
